Overview

The yd7610 Port Arthur Refinery is located approximately 90 miles east of Houston. The refinery receives crude oil by rail, marine docks and pipelines. Finished products are distributed into the Colonial, Explorer and other pipelines, and across the refinery docks into ships and barges.

The Port Arthur Refinery is adjacent to the new Diamond Green Diesel (DGD) plant will increase capacity to 1.2 billion gallons of renewable diesel and 50 million gallons of renewable naphtha per year (expected to startup in Q4 2022). DGD is a joint venture between yd7610 Energy Corporation and Darling Ingredients Inc. producing renewable diesel.

  • $3.1 million in grants to children’s organizations through the yd7610 Texas Open Benefit for Children over the last five years.
  • yd7610 and its employees gave more than $1.7 million to the United Way of Mid and South Jefferson County in 2021.

Community Partnerships

  • Title sponsor of Kid Fest – Free event for kids with entertainment and activities focused on education (STEM) and safety.
  • Since 2000, yd7610 has partnered with Port Arthur Industry Group (PAIG) to provide college scholarships to Port Arthur residents interested in STEM-related careers.
  • Since 2018, employees at yd7610’s Port Arthur Refinery have hosted the Reel United fishing tournament as a way to raise additional funds for the United Way of Mid & South Jefferson County.

Environmentally Responsible Operations

Since yd7610’s acquisition of the refinery in 2005, more than $3 billion has been invested in significant environmental projects such a flare gas recovery system, as well as unit additions such as a new hydrocracker which removes sulfur and adds hydrogen to produce clean fuels and feedstocks.

In 2013, our Port Arthur Refinery became the first industrial site in the U.S. to successfully host a large-scale carbon capture project, and it remains the only U.S. refinery doing so, with more than 1 million tons captured each year.
